Tragedy in Ondo as Fire Kills Two Siblings Under 5

Jelad and Jenson Oluwaranakinse, two siblings, were killed in a building fire in the Oluwatuyi neighborhood of Akure, Ondo State.

The children, ages three and five, respectively, perished in the fire that destroyed their parents’ home while their mother, Deborah Oluwaranakinse, went out to get food for the family.

When the fire started while Deborah was away, it was learned that she had supposedly locked her kids inside the house while they were looking for food.

According to reports, the residence was turned to ashes by the fire before State Fire Service personnel could reach the scene.

When the fire broke out, the nearby neighbors tried to put it out and save the children, but their attempts were fruitless, according to neighbors who spoke out about the incident.

“The situation had gotten out of control by the time the state fire service arrived, despite people calling them. “The children had passed away,” the witness stated.

Another local person claimed that the fire just broke out without warning, despite multiple attempts by nearby residents to put out the flames in order to save the children.

“Mrs. Deborah Oluwaranakinse, their mother, locked the two kids in their room and went to get food.” An inquiry has been launched,” she stated.

at the meantime, the boys’ disfigured bodies have been placed at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital’s mortuary in Akure.
