BREAKING: Over 20 Bandits Invade Abuja Community, Kidnap Five, Including a Family of Three

On Sunday night, at least 20 armed bandits stormed the Chikakore neighborhood in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, capturing five civilians, including a whole family.

The attackers broke into the homes of their victims, including a Southwesterner named Adesiyan Akinropo, at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, according to information obtained from police sources.

“They took Akinropo, his wife, and their visitor’s son hostage. In order to reach five people, the thieves then stole from another neighbor.

Additionally, the bandits used the gun’s butt to hurt a woman on the head. She had to be sent to the hospital right away due to her severe bleeding. The source revealed that when Byzahin division police officers arrived on the scene later, the attackers had already fled.

The police officers and community leaders reportedly planned to meet on Monday to talk about the incident.

An hour and a half after the event, according to one of the residents, the police arrived.

Attacks by the bandits in Chikakore have resumed. A police division is necessary in this community. Although we have already constructed a five-bedroom apartment and land to house the cops, no deployment has taken place as of yet.

“In the Sunday incident, the policemen came one and a half hours after the bandits had escaped with their victims,” she said.

The FCT police command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, did not return our reporter’s calls, thus our attempts to contact them for comment were unsuccessful.

Only five kilometers from Kuchibuyi, the Chikakore hamlet was the scene of an incident in early January when bandits who had escaped from Katsina State’s Kankara Local Government Area set up explosives nearby.

At least two people died in the unfortunate explosion at an Islamic school in Kuchibuyi, in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja, according to the police.
