Court Upholds Expulsion of PDP South-East Ex-Vice Chairman Ali Odefa

The expulsion of Ali Odefa, the former National Vice Chairman (South-East) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been affirmed by a Federal High Court in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
In suit number FHC/CS/AI/227/2024, Justice Hilary I. O. Oshomah handed the decision on Wednesday, confirming the validity of Odefa’s dismissal by his ward executive in December 2024.
Odefa was expelled on December 12, 2024, after a disciplinary committee recommended that he be expelled for anti-party activity. The court ruled in favor of the PDP Oguduokwor Ward Executive.
Leaders of the PDP South-East Approve Odefa’s Removal
Recall that PDP South-East stakeholders approved Odefa’s dismissal during a meeting held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja four weeks ago.
Members of the National Working Committee (NWC) who supported Ambassador Umar Damagum, the party’s Acting National Chairman, called the meeting and chose Chidebere Ugwu to succeed him.

According to reports, some important stakeholders were not present at the meeting, including Senator Adolphus Wabara, the chairman of the board of trustees, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, and senators from the South East zone.
On December 12, 2024, the Oguduokwor Ward executives announced Odefa’s expulsion from the PDP after the party’s disciplinary committee recommended it.
He had been convicted by the committee of anti-party activity.
