Lamido: Nigerians Misunderstand Tinubu, Calls Him a Master of Deception

Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State and a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has attributed Nigeria’s persistent problems to its citizens.
Lamido claimed that Nigerians voted the PDP out of office without taking into account the serious repercussions of their choice while speaking at his home in Bamaina on Sunday at an event breaking the Ramadan fast.
He maintained that President Bola Tinubu is unknown to Nigerians and characterized him as a master of dishonesty and self-centeredness.
As previously stated, Nigerians are not well-informed about Tinubu. He is a master at being dishonest and self-centered,” Lamido remarked.
After former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai called for opposition leaders to band together under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in order to save Nigeria from the current government, he made his remarks.
But Lamido brushed the notion aside, claiming that Tinubu could only be challenged by the principles of nationalism and honesty.
“You cannot oppose Tinubu with anger, greed, hatred, jealousy, or immorality. All of things he is an expert at.
“Only the principles of nationalism and truth can effectively oppose him,” Lamido stated.
In the meantime, Lamido has maintained that the PDP is still the only political party that can defeat Tinubu and the APC in the elections scheduled for 2027.
Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Aliyu Wamakko are among the former PDP members that defected to the APC. He urged them to rejoin the party in order to increase the odds of the opposition winning.
The former governor voiced his profound concern over the nation’s decline, pointing to the APC’s bad leadership as the cause of widespread poverty, hunger, insecurity, and general anxiety among Nigerians.
He declared: “The leadership has lost focus, and as a result, everyone in Nigeria is now confused.” However, legislators must maintain concentration and refrain from personal prejudices in the fight to find a solution; otherwise, it will be challenging to beat Tinubu.
“You cannot think of fighting state institutions on the basis of personal disappointment and succeed, but you can only succeed when you put the collective national interest and make sure everyone around is bound by that philosophy,” he added, underscoring the significance of a collective approach.
Urge Former PDP Members to Come Back
Former PDP members who had switched to the APC only to be persecuted and shunned were urged by Lamido to rejoin their party.

It is quite OK to return to the party that exalted you and provided you all with chances to succeed in Nigerian politics. You need to develop the ability to avoid political resentment. Anger cannot accompany leadership,” he continued.
Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Aliyu Wamakko are among the former governors and political leaders Lamido particularly urged to unify behind the PDP and strive for what he called the liberation of Nigeria from the crimes committed by the APC.
Lamido denied that other groups like the Social Democratic Party (SDP) or the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) could overthrow Tinubu’s administration, arguing that only the PDP have the capacity and organization to put up a strong fight.
