Breaking: Police detain soldier playing, “Canadian Loud.” In Lagos

A soldier named Lance Corporal Sani Aminu was taken into custody by the Nigeria Police Force after being discovered in possession of Canadian Loud, a strong synthetic cannabis import.
According to Naija News, the illegal drug shipment and the soldier, whose service number is 13NA/70/11481, were both detained and put into custody in Lagos State on Wednesday.

 

According to a police signal that purportedly got, the soldier, who is based at Abalti Barracks in the Surulere region of the state, was apprehended at around 8 PM by a police patrol unit led by ASP Alex Dung.

The signal reads, “SITUATION REPORT X ARREST OF MILITARY PERSONNEL X TODAY BEING 15/01/2025 X AT ABOUT 2015HRS X PATROL TEAM LED ASP ALEX DUNG ATTACHED MINE X INTERCEPTED AND BROUGHT TO THE STATION 13NA/70/11481 L/ CPL SANI AMINU ATTACHED TO ABALTI BARRACKS SURULERE X WITH SUSBTANCE SUSPECT WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO CP TACTICAL SQUAD 1 FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION PLEASE X SUPOL 74 ORILE-IGANMU.

A 40-foot trailer containing 2,217.6 kilograms of skunk, a strong form of cannabis, was recently confiscated by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents at an abandoned gas station in Kagini, Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The Agency’s Media and Publicity Director, Femi Babafemi, signed a statement to Naija News last Sunday informing them of this.

Six cars were being used to transport the illegal cargo to the northern states. The intelligence-driven operation took place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:20 a.m.

The trailer, six cars (including a Toyota Van, Toyota Camry, Toyota Sienna, JAC Hilux truck, Toyota Corolla, and a Vento Passat), and a 42-year-old suspect, Isaac Monday Desmond, were also seized as a result of the operation. According to reports, the shipment was loaded in Edo State’s Uzebba, Owan Local Council.

Two suspects, Anthony Nnamdi (42), and Abba Ali (27), were apprehended by NDLEA agents in Nyanya during another FCT operation. Additionally, 1.398 kg of cocaine and crack cocaine precursor chemicals were found.
