Five Killed in Violent Clash Between Bandits and Security in Katsina

Police, the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), and local vigilantes worked together to successfully stop an abduction attempt in Katsina State, killing five suspected bandits and confiscating seven motorcycles.
After the police leadership acquired trustworthy intelligence, this successful ambush was carried out in the Dandume Local Government Area’s Dutsen Wori village.
DSP Sadiq Aliyu, the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, stated at a press conference on April 11, 2025, that the operation, which was headed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dandume Division, started at approximately 4:15 a.m.
According to Sadiq, the operation led to the confiscation of seven working motorcycles—four Hondas and three Boxers—used by the offenders and the apprehension of five armed bandit suspects.
The police command received more information of bandit activity in the villages of Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo in Danmusa LGA from the Department of State Services (DSS) later that day, at around 7:00 a.m.
The Danmusa DPO responded by assembling a second joint squad of vigilantes, KSCWC members, and police officers to handle the matter. The crew successfully forced the crooks out of their hiding place by engaging them in a gunfight.
