“They Can Expel Me Now” – PDP BoT Chair Applauds Gov Otti, Shrugs Off Suspension Threat

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has once again commended Governor Alex Otti for his services to Abia State.
Wabara made this remark on Sunday at the International Conference Center, Umuahia, during the 80th birthday celebration of Dr. Godswill Okoro, a former Secretary to the State Government under the first tenure of ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Before joining the PDP, the former Senate President made it clear that he was an Abia State native.
Recall that the Abia State chapter of the party suspended Wabara on Tuesday, February 11th, and prohibited him from serving in any party capacity.
A meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC), chaired by Amah Abraham, led to the decision.
The Abia State PDP accused Wabara of anti-party activities and failure to apologize despite being given the opportunity to do so.
It stated that Wabara’s actions are inappropriate for a former Senate president and party chairman of the Board of Trustees.

But speaking to the crowd, Wabara restated his position that, following elections, governance should come before party politics.
He claimed, “I, Adolphus Nduneweh Wabara, was first and foremost an Abia citizen before I became a PDP card-carrying member and then an NRC card-carrying member in this state.”
“Politics ends after campaigns, after elections, and then you start thinking of governance. What is taking place in Abia is visible even to a blind man! And I’ll say it again! They may now be able to expel me since they stated that I was suspended.
Encouraging Otti to continue his efforts, Wabara added, “But, having said so, sir, continue with the works; our ancestors in Abia are with you. Governor Otti came to celebrate Dr. Emelike Okoro, but perhaps the state’s PDP leadership will suspend him on television the following day.
