Embattled Yahaya Bello, Former Kogi Governor, Meets Wike in Abuja

On Thursday afternoon, Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, received a visit from Yahaya Bello, the immediate former governor of Kogi State, at his home in Abuja.

Bello was accompanied by his successor, incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who is currently facing numerous fraud cases worth billions of Naira.

It is believed that the former governor is looking to create new partnerships with powerful members of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. This comes after he became estranged from the main initiatives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to reports, Bello is the target of many proceedings brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before both an FCT High Court and a Federal High Court in Abuja.

As soon as Bello’s term as governor of Kano ended, his ordeal started.

He lost the support of President Bola Tinubu. After leaving office, the former governor blamed his bad luck on influential APC figures.
