Detectives investigating ‘rape’ of 13-year-old girl in Hackney release e-fit of man

Police have issued an e-fit of a guy after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly dragged into a car and then raped in a nearby block of flats in Hackney.

Met officers said the girl was reportedly put into the car on Banister Road West in Homerton between 4pm and 5pm on October 2, 2024.

The suspect is claimed to have taken her to neighboring Bannister House, a block of flats in Homerton High Street, before raping her.

The suspect, who is estimated to be in his mid to late 30s, is said to have left the scene in a white Audi.

Detective Superintendent Ralph Coates, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a very serious accusation and understandably it will raise alarm in the local community. I want to convey reassurance our inquiry continues at pace.

“We have been carrying out extensive enquiries including CCTV work and speaking at length to the victim who has undergone a horrific ordeal. We continue to support her.

“We now need the help of the public as part of our urgent enquiries to identify this man.

“The victim has helped us construct an e-fit of the suspect – do you know this image? Do you have any information at all? We would urge you to come forward to support our investigation.”

Police requested anyone with information to call 101 giving the reference 01/985614/24. They suggest if you believe you know who it is, to contact police, rather than approach him personally.

To remain anonymous call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
