Senator Natasha Stands Firm, Denies Apologizing to Senate

The suspended senator from Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has refuted reports that she apologized to the Nigerian Senate leadership for the acts that resulted in her suspension.
According to a statement released on Monday, March 24, Akpoti-Uduaghan called the reports inaccurate and deceptive.
“I stand firmly by my actions and words regarding the matter that led to my suspension,” Akpoti-Uduaghan stated, adding that she never apologized to the Senate or any individual regarding the matter.
The alleged allegations that are circulating that I have revoked my position and apologized to the Senate are wholly false, she said. Regarding this issue, I have not apologized to the Senate or anybody else, and I stand firmly by my words and deeds.
She added that the statements were regrettable and pointed out that certain people are determined to mislead the public and distort the facts.
The difficulties she is currently facing, according to Akpoti-Uduaghan, are about maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy rather than about herself.
“I implore the public to ignore these articles and rumors since they are not indicative of my stance. Truth, justice, and the people I represent are still the things I’m dedicated to.

“The integrity of our democracy is at stake; it is not just about me. I refuse to be coerced or intimidated by false tales,” she continued.
Akpoti-Uduaghan praised her constituency’s members for their unity and cautioned Nigerians against false information.
All official statements, she stressed, would originate from her verified social media accounts.
“I appreciate the support and solidarity of my people,” Akpoti-Uduaghan remarked. You may be confident that I will keep up my defense of justice and morality.
