After revealing his unorthodox method of asking ladies out, a young Nigerian man becomes viral, claiming it helps weed out disinterested potential.
Giving women his phone number rather than requesting theirs is the concept, which was first proposed by X user @chinedu_10.
Although he isn’t a relationship guru, Chinedu stressed that the tactic has worked well for creating deep bonds.
“I never ask for a woman’s number when I see her that catches my eye. I give her my instead and instruct her to text me. Respecting my time is more important than feeling proud or becoming a “alpha male.” I’ve spared myself time on something that wouldn’t work out if she doesn’t text. “This works, I promise!” he said.
Inspired by the concept, @Yorubatoast1, another X user, chose to try the technique on a woman he liked while riding the bus every day.
He handed her a handwritten note with his phone number on it, rather than asking her for it directly.
Hours later, to his delight, the woman texted him and struck up a lively and funny chat. He came away from the encounter feeling hopeful about this simple but successful strategy.
He said, “I decided to try this method yesterday, and it actually works, guys,” as an update on his experience. Instead of being gaslighted by women on Twitter, provide your number. She will message you to see if she is interested.
