Peter Obi Alleges Youths Are Paid N20,000 to Create Confusion in Nigeria

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential contender, has said that certain unidentified individuals pay young Nigerians as little as N20,000 and N40,000 in an attempt to confuse the country’s electoral system.

Speaking at John Hopkins University in the United States on the topic of “Politics and Change in Nigeria,” Obi claimed that young people had been tricked into fighting against others who genuinely cared about them.

In order to preserve their bright future, he asked Nigerian youths to stop collecting money, especially peanuts, and instead look for new ways to introduce transactional politics for the benefit of both the country and themselves.

“So, people pay them to cause confusion,” Obi stated. “As I visit social media right now, you can see that all of the people who are being paid N20,000 to N40,000 a month to abuse you are young people who are fighting for their lives.”

The former governor of Anambra State stated, “You can get it right in Nigeria’s transactional politics, even though I am almost 60 and only have a few years left.”
