El-Rufai: Oshiomhole, Akande, Adamu Acknowledge APC’s Shift from Original Plan

According to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, he once met with Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Senator Bisi Akande, and Senator Abdullahi Adamu to voice his displeasure over the APC’s departure from its original ideals and goals.
According to him, the political stakeholders in the discussion concurred that the party had strayed from its original plan.
In a Katsina interview with Deutsche Welle Hausa, El-Rufai bemoaned the fact that he begged party leaders to restore the status quo but was rejected.
He claimed that the APC’s opposition to holding meetings for two years was evidence of the party’s leadership’s contempt for internal democracy and group decision-making.

He says, “I asked Bisi Akande, Adams Oshiomhole, and Abdullahi Adamu if this was what we had planned for the people when we started and registered our party.” They said, “It has changed.” If things have changed, should you continue doing something you don’t like? I suggested to leaders that we should reappear, but they rejected us.
“For this reason, I stated that it is the party that left me, and I must find a party that shares the same ideology as the one we had when 37 of us signed the APC registration form. I am one of them. As a founding father, I am.
However, you should leave a child alone even if you gave birth to him and he veered off course despite your best efforts to steer him back on course. I’ve vowed to leave APC and go with the world.
