We’ll Continue to Break Down Opposition Forces – Aliyu

Farouk Aliyu, a former House of Representatives minority leader, has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, cannot be stopped by any opposition in the nation in 2027.
According to reports, Aliyu stated that opposition politicians’ trips to former President Muhammadu Buhari would be insignificant.
The APC chieftain claimed that opposition parties have not been meeting their standards in an interview with African Independent Television (AIT) on Monday.

He boasted about how the APC overthrew the government in order to seize power in 2015. According to him, his party would not stand by while the opposition parties banded together and established a strong base.

In this nation, there is no opposition. They just no longer oppose. We brought this nation to a complete halt when we were in the opposition. We wanted the government to come and oppose us because we didn’t like it. They are going around to our own President Buhari, which is really embarrassing.
We won’t just stand by and let them get together, I should also tell the public. We won’t. “We’ll make sure to fill their garri with sand,” he continued.

He partially answered when asked if his party was involved in the major opposition parties’ leadership turmoil.

“Yes, we are, to a certain degree. Naturally, we won’t let them simply stand by and overthrow us. No. That is not what we will do. Thus, we will continue to fill their garri with sand. They can come and attack us if they can carry the sand. However, to be honest, there isn’t a strong opponent in this nation that can beat us right now,” he said.

He claimed it was their business when informed that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) did not seek to destroy his party as an opposition.

He suggested that if Nigerians felt the current government did not perform adequately, they should wait until 2027 to vote them out.

“Well, that is their concern. We won’t; I mentioned that we would place stones in addition to garri. We will ensure that they do not meet.

“Look, we believe that we are doing well. “Please let us not fight if the people think we’re not doing well. They should easily defeat us in the election,” he continued.

According to Aliyu, opposing parties also instigate internal conflicts inside the APC, but since his party is in power, internal issues are promptly resolved.

That’s what they’re doing, of course. We are aware that they are doing the same thing, but we are different from them in that we have the government, therefore we have something to lose. As a result, there are more things that unite us than divide us, and divergent opinions are common in democracies.

However, I am informing them that we will continue to fill their garri with sand. We’re not going to let them look back. We’ll make sure they don’t impede our advancement,” he said in closing.
