According to reports, Habeb Okikiola Badmus, often known as “portable,” is a well-known musician who was arrested by the Kwara State police command on charges of criminal defamation and other connected offenses.
Following a plea from a man named Okunola Saheed, also known as “Osupa,” command personnel made the arrest in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday.
SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the command spokesperson, made this announcement in the state capital of Ilorin on Sunday.
Part of the statement said, “The Kwara State Police Command would like to notify the public that in response to a petition against Mr. Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, better known as ‘Portable’ in the entertainment sector, that was received from a guy named Mr. Okunola Saheed, commonly known as ‘Osupa,’
“Kwara Command police investigators have investigated the claims in accordance with due process by taking legal actions.
Serious accusations, such as criminal defamation, threat of death, incitement, character assassination, behavior likely to provoke a breach of peace, and the use of derogatory and abusive language, are at the heart of the petition.
The Command obtained a legitimate arrest order from an Ilorin Magistrate Court in light of the seriousness of these accusations and the evidence that supported them.

In accordance with this warrant, Command agents went to Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday, April 13, 2025, and at around 19:25 hours, the suspect was taken into custody. He was taken right away to Ilorin for additional examination.
“The suspect’s statement was obtained in front of both sides’ attorneys when he arrived. He is presently being held, and plans are on to charge him in court right away.
The state police command urged the people to maintain composure and desist from disseminating unconfirmed information, reaffirming its dedication to protecting the rule of law and making sure that justice is administered in a fair and transparent manner.
