Tinubu Convenes Behind‑Closed‑Doors Meeting with Akpabio and Akwa Ibom Governor

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State.
The meeting, which highlights the President’s ongoing involvement with important political figures and state executives, was reportedly part of larger consultations meant to improve ties between the federal government and the states.
Akpabio, a former governor of the state, and two other prominent politicians from the area joined Governor Eno, the head of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, to the meeting.

According to reports, the meetings may have focused on strengthening ties between the Federal Government and Akwa Ibom State and tackling matters of national importance, even if specifics of the conversations were not made public as of reporting time.

The three of them posed for pictures at the Villa following the conference, indicating a friendly and cooperative atmosphere.

In a statement on 𝕏 (formerly known as Twitter), presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed the visit.

“On Friday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Onanuga said, referring to Governor Eno as the APC leader in his state. The state’s APC leader is Governor Eno.
