Tinubu Has Diminished Nigeria’s Global Standing – Phrank Shaibu

Under President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria has lost its international significance, according to Phrank Shaibu, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s personal assistant on public relations.

Nigeria’s exclusion from an upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and five African leaders, according to Shaibu’s statement on Friday, is “a scathing verdict” on Tinubu’s foreign policy shortcomings.

On July 9, Trump will meet with the leaders of Senegal, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, and Mauritania at the White House to talk about business prospects.

Nigeria’s exclusion from the list, according to Shaibu, is “a staggering symbol of the Tinubu administration’s failure on the international stage” rather than a diplomatic blunder.

“The Trump administration’s exclusion is not a diplomatic blunder,” he stated.

It is a decision that is both astonishing in its significance and caustic in its symbolism. An assessment of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s turbulent presidency, his contentious ECOWAS chairmanship, and the total collapse of Nigeria’s diplomatic significance.

Once a continental powerhouse, he claimed Nigeria is now “an afterthought” in world politics.

“With three countries leaving and 40% of its land mass gone, Tinubu left the 15-member ECOWAS in a desperate situation,” he said.

Tinubu has completed the transformation from Giant of Africa to diplomatic ghost. He has diminished our reputation, squandered our past, and muffled our voice on the international scene.

He claimed that Nigeria “is invisible” under Tinubu’s leadership while South Africa and Washington negotiate trade agreements.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, Shaibu said, will free Nigeria from the rule of “urban bandits.”

He declared, “We will not be complicit in our own erasure.”

“Our commitment is as strong as the damage. Additionally, the effort to restore Nigeria’s honor has already started.

Shaibu said on Tuesday that growing hunger and economic suffering will cause the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lose the 2027 presidential election.

He claimed that Nigerians would vote against the ruling party in the upcoming election because they are already calculating the costs of bad government.

“Propaganda cannot conceal hunger. Poverty cannot be manipulated by PR, he added.
