Tinubu Will Remain President Till 2031 — APC Replies ‘Mushroom’ ADC

According to the All Progressives Congress, the North is firmly in support of President Bola Tinubu’s continued four-year term in office, and there won’t be a vacancy at Aso Rock, the seat of power, until 2031.
This was specifically stated by Ajibola Bashiru, the APC’s national secretary, during a media roundtable hosted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists on Monday in Ibadan.
He called the ADC coalition a “contraption” and a “mushroom party” made up of self-serving people with little political significance.
Northern APC structures, which name Sokoto, Bauchi, Kebbi, and Zamfara as states that support Mr. Tinubu’s 2027 ambition, are firmly behind it, according to Mr. Bashiru.
In contrast to those who are circulating unfounded “beer-parlour gossip,” the lawmaker noted, powerful northern leaders are supporting Mr. Tinubu. According to him, there won’t be a vacancy at Aso Rock until 2031, so opposition candidates should bide their time.

Additionally, Mr. Bashiru denied rumors of a plot by the North to undermine Mr. Tinubu’s 2027 candidacy. In Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, and Gombe, he said, the president was welcomed.
The idea that the North is banding together to oppose Tinubu is a gigantic fiction. From a position of knowledge, I say this. I am a strong individual. “I live by the advice of Amilcar Cabral: ‘Tell no lies, claim no easy victories,'” Bashiru said.
He asserted that the north’s support for Tinubu is unwavering, citing open street celebrations in several states, such as Gombe, Katsina, and Kano. The song “Omo Ologo,” written by Dauda Kahutu Rarara for Mr. Tinubu, has become an anthem in the North, according to the APC chieftain.
He claims that the APC’s victory in recent off-cycle elections, which had a win percentage of more than 75%, demonstrates its widespread support.
“Those who are voting for our party are Nigerians, not foreigners, Togolese, or Cameroonians,” he said.
Mr. Bashiru commended Mr. Tinubu for his inclusive leadership, advancements in infrastructure, and expanding support across the North. He stated there was no crisis or threat to the APC as a result of the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s previous chairman.
