Tinubu’s Government Reduced Shettima to Mere Wedding, Burial Attendee – APC Chieftain

Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed doubts about President Bola Tinubu’s handling of Vice President Kashim Shettima.
He questioned why a well-known politician had been reduced to a government agent just to attend funerals and weddings.
The former national publicity secretary of the now-defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) bemoaned in a statement that the state of affairs was not only depressing but also intolerable.

He asked why Tinubu is unable to transfer authority to Vice President Kashim Shetimma whenever he leaves Nigeria’s borders.
He cautioned that political pragmatism should not be used as an excuse to compromise the high status of the vice president’s office.
“As much as I am not a supporter of Vice President Kashim Shettima, I must state as a concerned Nigerian that I am not happy with the way and manner in which this administration is treating such a highly profiled politician and turning such a highly respected politician into an agent of government solely for attending wedding and burial ceremonies,” explained Eze. This is regrettable, depressing, and intolerable.
“He might not have the guts to express his annoyance, but the fact is that in the two years he has served as this nation’s vice president and the number of times President Tinubu has left the country, Mr. President has not felt it is appropriate or necessary to transfer power to the vice president.
“This act is not only unacceptable, but it also violates the letter and spirit of this nation’s Constitution.”
