Tragedy as Kogi Varsity Lecturer Dies During Intimate Moment With Student

The death of Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, a prominent lecturer at Kogi State University in Anyigba, has been confirmed. He passed away in a hotel room while having sex with a female student, age 22.
The crime was reported to the Anyigba Police Division the following day after it occurred on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, according to the information gathered.
The student was identified as Gloria Samuel, a 200-level Social Studies Education student, and the lecturer, who lectured in the university’s Faculty of Education, reportedly checked into a hotel with her.

Reports indicate that he reportedly consumed many energy drinks before collapsing while they were in the room together.

After the student ran to the desk seeking assistance, the hotel manager sounded an alarm.

The police were alerted promptly and came to the hotel to take the lecturer to a hospital, where an on-duty physician subsequently declared him dead.

The case is now being handled by the Kogi State Police Command.

The student was taken into custody and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department to be questioned further.

An autopsy has been conducted, according to the police, but the results have not been released.

As a result, the girl has been sent from the Anyigba Police Division to the State CID for more scrutiny and legal action. Spokesman for the Command, SP William Ovye Aya, told Sahara Reporters, “An autopsy has been done, but I haven’t spoken with the SCID yet, so I don’t know if the results are out yet.”

A married father of children, Dr. Ibikunle was notoriously severe on campus.
