Setback in Victor Osimhen’s Proposed Move to Manchester United

Victor Osimhen, a Nigerian striker, is apparently not on Manchester United’s summer transfer wish list because of the league’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which place financial restrictions on players.
The PSR was introduced for the 2015–2016 season with the intention of reducing clubs’ excessive expenditure by allowing them to lose no more than £105 million during a three-year financial cycle.
Last season, Everton’s 10-point deduction for exceeding expenditure limits—which was ultimately lowered to six points after an appeal—made the effects of these rules very clear.

Osimhen appears to be the perfect fit for United to solve their current goal-scoring problems, but Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha is still the team’s top priority.
In an effort to increase their offensive alternatives, Manchester United seems prepared to exercise Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause.

Although Osimhen may be a good compliment to Cunha, United would need to pay over £51 million for the striker, who is presently on loan at Galatasaray, according to United News. However, his high salary demands might make a summer transfer impractical.

The club would have to efficiently manage and maybe lower their current salary expenditure in order to accommodate a player of Osimhen’s caliber.

Osimhen, 26, is rumored to have already signed a contract to join Manchester United this summer. According to reports, the Red Devils made a generous offer of €20 million annually for the striker.

Both Manchester United and Serie A powerhouse Juventus have made a sizable offer of £17.1 million net annually, or roughly £330,000 per week after taxes, according to sources, including Turkish writer Ali Naci Küçük. If agreed upon, Osimhen would earn almost £660,000 a week before taxes, making him United’s highest-paid player.

However, because United doesn’t appear to be interested in pursuing Osimhen any further, its financial structure and valuation may shortly be reexamined.

On NBC Sports, transfer specialist David Ornstein talked about the team’s recruitment strategy and emphasized that, despite the need to negotiate personal conditions, which are not certain, Matheus Cunha is their top target for the midfield position.

Ornstein added that Liam Delap of Ipswich Town is Manchester United’s top priority in terms of striker recruitment. Delap has a £30 million release clause that is subject upon the team being relegated.
Keep in mind that Chelsea and other Premier League teams are also interested in Delap, which would make his possible transfer much more competitive. It is anticipated that Delap will decide on his future prior to the start of the European Under-21 Championship.

Osimhen, who is now on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray, has had an incredible season, scoring 30 goals and dishing out seven assists in just 35 games across all competitions.
