Tinubu Holds High-Level Security Meeting Behind Closed Doors

With violence in some areas of the country on the rise, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has joined a meeting with top security officials behind closed doors.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the meeting started in the President’s official residence, the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, where it is presently taking place. Insecurity has been on the rise, especially in the states of Plateau, Benue, and Borno.

Heads of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Inspector-General of Police were among the many service leaders that arrived at the Villa earlier in the afternoon in a large convoy of vehicles.

The meeting comes after Tinubu returned to Abuja late Monday from a policy retreat and 18-day working visit in Paris and London. Sources claim that the president has been keeping a careful eye on domestic events and has been giving orders to security services while overseas.
