Troops Eliminate 82 Terrorists, Rescue 93 Kidnapped Victims in One Week

In the last week, security forces carrying out internal operations around Nigeria have effectively killed 82 terrorists, captured 198 criminals, and freed 93 people who had been abducted.
Across several operational zones, the troops also confiscated 2,040 rounds of ammo and 86 high-caliber weaponry.
These events were revealed in a statement released on Friday by Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, Director of Defense Media Operations.
He also disclosed that 41 terrorists, including 10 men, 12 women, and 19 children, turned themselves in to Operation Hadin Kai forces.
Security forces in the Niger Delta region seized more than ₦500 million worth of illicitly obtained petroleum products, including crude oil.
Kangye said that among the confiscated goods were 600 liters of kerosene, 117,320 liters of unlawfully processed diesel, and 366,530 liters of stolen crude oil.

“Troops also found and destroyed 32 illegal refining sites, 60 storage tanks, 34 drums, 22 boats, three speedboats, 27 dugout pits, and 38 crude oil cooking ovens,” he said. In addition to recovering 152 different types of weapons and ammunition, as well as five magazines, the troops also apprehended 22 oil thieves.
The defense spokeswoman described the recovered weapons, including three pump-action shotguns, 19 Dane guns, 18 locally manufactured firearms, and 46 AK-47 rifles.
51 cartridges, 600 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 128 rounds of 7.62mm NATO rounds, and 1,165 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition were also seized by security personnel.
