Violence Erupts at APC Bwari Primaries, One Feared Dead

Following violent altercations during the All Progressives Congress (APC) council primaries in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja on Wednesday, one person was confirmed dead.
It was discovered that the incident happened while tensions were escalating over alleged anomalies in the list of delegates used for the election.
The incident was allegedly captured on camera, showing a body being hastily loaded into a black car.
The media reports that they hear a voice saying, “Quickly, put him inside the car,” in the background.
The party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was also tasked by a party insider with submitting a controversial list of delegates for the Bwari Area Council primary election.
The source claimed that the list, purportedly created by the chairman of the APC Local Council, was unanimously rejected by candidates and authorized delegates.
When it was revealed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had approved the contentious list that the APC leadership had sent them, the scene reportedly became more heated.
The list of delegates for the Bwari Area Council local government election is purportedly being provided by Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC, who is accused of compromising IEC. “The alleged fake list submitted through the APC Local Council Chairman has been unanimously rejected by legitimate delegates and aspirants,” according to a second source.
Meanwhile, in a video that journalists were able to get, the APC council chairman charged that certain party members had been compromised after allegedly taking payment to sabotage the primaries.
He pleaded with them during the heated discussion to examine their consciences and stop causing trouble for financial gain.
“I am not in Abuja at the moment,” Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, told reporters when phoned. Much obliged.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command spokesman, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that she was out of town and would respond to reporters later.
According to SaharaReporters, the police spokesperson stated, “I will call to confirm as I am out of town at the moment, but let me confirm and get back to you.”
