‘Whatever I Do, They Insult Me’ — Tinubu Reflects On Criticism

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared that he has learned from people who continuously disparage him.
At a town hall gathering with political leaders in Benue State, where armed herdsmen have recently killed at least 100 people, the president made this statement.
“They’ll make fun of me no matter what I do. Tinubu stated, “I read the papers and I learn from their criticism because I can’t see it all.”

He addressed Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, saying, “Your political rivals do not want you to be successful. Are you only now realizing that?

“I want us to immediately establish a leadership council that will convene in Abuja to devise a plan for enduring peace. He added, “And I’m prepared to make an investment in that peace.”

As a father figure to all citizens of the state, the president also instructed Alia to collaborate with all parties involved.

To assist in determining a course for peace, he declared the formation of a Committee of Elders, comprising the present governor of Nasarawa State and all previous governors of Benue.

Tinubu further advised the governor to address the ongoing farmer-herder conflict by allocating land for ranching.

Tinubu urged all Benue residents to come together and cooperate in order to achieve enduring peace.

He also urged traditional leaders to work together with the administration to bring about peace and stability.

“Be prepared for insults — that is the yoke of leadership,” Tinubu advised Alia. Bring your lantern. To find answers, look for such leaders and work together.
