YPP Candidate Criticizes Soludo on Declining Education Standards

Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for governor of Anambra state in the November 8, 2025, election, has criticized state governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for the state’s low student performance on the recently released National Examination Council (NECO) and Join Administration and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams.

Cancel Chukwuma bemoaned the fact that Anambra State, which had topped the national ranking for over ten years in a row, had dropped to 28th place in the most recent statistics.

“Today, we have witnessed a shocking decline in some of the key indicators of development in our State,” the YPP candidate for governor stated in a statement Tuesday.

“The current Anambra State administration has caused this gain to wither. It was once the leading light in education for more than ten years.”

“Anambra State’s education rating has drastically declined today, to the point where our state now lags behind Abia, Imo, and Ebonyi States in terms of student performance.” Anambra State has seen such a decrease under the current administration that it is no longer able to be listed among the top states in the region and nationally for pupils who received five credits on their senior certificate exam. In more over ten years, it has never been this bad.

“This is a fragmented promise.” Now a gain is gone. It is a warning sign for our State and our children’s future, which is concerning to us as a people,” Sir Chukwuma continued.

However, Chukwuma promised that his administration would undo the regrettable development if elected to power.
