Immigration Officer Shot in Minna as Police Clash with Hoodlums

In Minna, Niger State, Christian Oladimeji, an Assistant Superintendent of Immigration (ASI), was shot and hurt during a clash between police and criminals over allegedly stolen goods.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama stated in a post on his official 𝕏 handle on Saturday that the incident happened on Friday at approximately 12:30 p.m.
A Surveillance Patrol Team from the “A” Division Police Command in Minna, under the command of ASP Ibrahim Audu Paiko, reportedly noticed a group of road construction workers carrying iron rods that seemed to be stolen while on a routine patrol close to the Obasanjo Complex.
The workers left the supplies behind and ran away when they saw the authorities. However, other road construction workers and thugs attacked the police as they were trying to retrieve the abandoned things, throwing stones and other objects at them.
Unintentional Shooting and Police Vehicle Damage
The police’s Dangote Patrol Vehicle was also damaged in the incident. ASI Christian Oladimeji, who was riding by on a motorcycle, was unintentionally hit by a bullet that ASP Ibrahim Audu fired in an effort to scatter the crowd.
According to the investigation, “the bullet struck her in the lap, resulting in her falling from the motorcycle and sustaining further injuries.”
