Russia-Ukraine War: Trump Declares, ‘Nobody’s Playing Me’

US President Donald Trump has denied rumors that Russia is trying to influence his attempts to negotiate an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.

No one is playing him, Trump said reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, adding that he is only attempting to assist in ending the situation between Russia and Ukraine.

My entire life has been one huge negotiation, I must admit, and I am aware of when people are trying to take advantage of us and when they are not,” Trump stated.

In order for me to want to stop it, I need to see enthusiasm. And I believe that enthusiasm is visible. I believe I see it both ways.

“No one is trying to trick me. I am attempting to assist. The peace deal is coming to a head right now, and I believe we have a strong chance of completing it.

The Trump administration is still hopeful that it will eventually be able to negotiate an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, US Vice President JD Vance said Friday, just hours before this.

According to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump would abandon efforts to mediate a peace accord between Russia and Ukraine within days unless there are unambiguous signs that a deal is possible.

A complete temporary truce has already been agreed to by Ukraine, which has charged that Russia is purposefully delaying a settlement to strengthen its negotiation position.
