Tragic Death: Newly Wedded NDLEA Official Burnt Alive in Kaduna

In the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a mob tragically killed Aliyu Imran, a recently married official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
In the Gadan-Gayan area of Igabi LGA, Imran, the Assistant Superintendent of Narcotic 1, was reportedly set on fire by an enraged mob.
Imran and his colleagues were reportedly pursuing a car when it was involved in a collision that claimed lives, which led to this incident.

The officer and his team were reportedly pursuing a suspected drug dealer when the suspect tried to flee by reversing his car, killing at least three people on the scene.
According to reports, Imran stepped in to try to defuse the situation, but the mob attacked him then.

He was stabbed while the Officer in Charge (OC) was phoning for help.

The news outlet cited sources who revealed that a brave police officer had taken him to a local hospital, but the crowd then stormed the hospital, dragged him out, and burned him.

Imran’s family has been disappointed and has accused the NDLEA of failing to provide them with a statement, condolences, or compensation.

On Friday, a few NDLEA officers conducted an operation at Gadan-Gayan. They are hiding it. Our agency is this. Are you aware of their typical activities? The NDLEA will attempt to conceal the incident so that the family of the deceased will not receive compensation in the event of accidents such as these in which an officer is involved or dies.

While some officers were on patrol, the suspect turned around and began to drive away from them.

In order to track down the vehicle that was attempting to flee from them, the officers took their own vehicle. Four persons lost their lives in an accident involving the car they were pursuing during that process.

One of our policemen, Aliyu Imran, came down to try to defuse the tension when they arrived. Then he began to be attacked by people. Even I have experienced that type of circumstance in the past. When you notice that things are becoming tense, you usually leave right away.

The officer in charge of the operation, the OC (Officer-in-Charge), began to say, “Okay,” as he came down to try to defuse the situation. All of you ought to inbox. Like, let’s go. You should get in your car and let’s go when you say “inbox.”

Aliyu Imran was left there as a result of their actions. Thus, he was stabbed by those men. One of the local police officers stabbed him, then rode him to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the source.

He claimed that the NDLEA officer was dragged out and burned alive by the mob, which also accompanied the policemen to the hospital.

The source went on to describe the depressing development: “You know what’s heartbreaking? He recently married in December of last year. While they were burying him yesterday (Saturday), his wife passed out.

Aliyu had exited the car to diffuse the tension, but the mob became antagonistic. Because I have experienced comparable mob scenarios during operations, I am aware of how these things escalate. The best course of action is to depart right away whenever tensions increase.

Aliyu Imran was left behind in the confusion. He was attacked by the mob, who repeatedly stabbed him.

He was rescued by a policeman who rode his bike to a local hospital. Aliyu was barely alive when the same mob broke into the hospital, pulled him out, and set him on fire.

Nothing has been done for his family by the agency. They have yet to formally address the incident. The NDLEA has already covered it up, and this is not the first time something like has occurred.

This is not the first time a cop has been killed while on duty, the insider claimed.

He pointed out that these incidents are frequently not well publicized, and the families receive very little recompense.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi responded to the tragic incident by denying allegations that the agency fails its fallen officers.

He confirmed that the dead officer’s family is in direct contact with the agency chairman.

The director of operations and general investigations for the agency is leading a delegation from headquarters that is currently in Kaduna to visit with the family as I speak with you. Additionally, the chairman had previously sent another commander. The assertion that the family has been abandoned is therefore untrue.

The commander in question has been suspended by management as a further indication of how seriously the organization takes this issue. Are you getting it?

“This is still being looked into. The investigation is ongoing, and the agency continues to communicate with the family. He was cited as saying, “We are working hard to explore the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
