Akpabio to Opposition: You Can’t Unite While Spreading Daily Lies

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, has counseled the opposition to unite before the 2027 election.
He cautioned that if the opposition continued to attack every aspect of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu’s administration, they would not be able to unite.
Akpabio gave a speech at the nation’s capital, Abuja, for the opening of the recently built Left-Hand Service Carriageway.
Former governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Ayo Fayose (Ekiti) were among the PDP chieftains who attended the function.
In his Democracy Day speech before a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday, June 12, 2025, the Senate president cited Tinubu’s assertion.
According to Akpabio, the president stated that he opposes Nigeria becoming a one-party state. He is hoping that the opposition would organize their homes.

Before the next election, try to bring your houses together so that no one will accuse you of attempting to silence the opposition.
However, I wouldn’t handle your problems and put it together if you expected me to do it in my capacity as Senate president and the president’s representative.
For this reason, the president stated that he wants you to unite but that he will not assist you in doing so if you are unable to do so. Politics is at play here.
And as long as you keep lying every day, you will never be able to unite. in addition to criticizing everything. Nothing is going well in your nation. In 1960, was Nigeria like this? Was this the state of Abuja three years ago?
