Gunmen Assassinate MACBAN LG Chairman in Plateau

Muhammad Adamu, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, or MACBAN, was shot dead in Plateau State’s Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

Gunmen who have not yet been recognized killed Adma on Wednesday night.

It was discovered that shortly after the deceased broke his fast, the incident took place at his home.

After confirming the event to reporters, MACBAN State Chairman Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo urged on security services to look into and apprehend those responsible for the heinous conduct.

“This is a regrettable circumstance. To ensure that those responsible for this horrible act face the full force of the law, we urge security agencies to look into it and find them,” he said.

Alhaji Danjuma Ibrahim, a community youth leader who also confirmed the attack, also discussed the incident and stated that the deceased’s body had been placed at Barkin Ladi General Hospital and was scheduled to be buried today (Thursday).

While denouncing the act, Danjuma recalled that the chairman had been the target of gunmen three times before, but each time they were unsuccessful.

“The gunmen attacked him and shot him multiple times,” he said. His body has been wounded by bullets. They fled the area after shooting him.

“We were with security personnel at the hospital when he was rushed there, so they responded, including police and soldiers.”

Prior to his passing, “he played a vital role in ensuring peace within the Barkin Ladi area,” the youth leader said, calling the attack on the MACBAN chairman regrettable.

He insisted, “His significance in maintaining peace in the community will cause his death to continue to linger in our memory.”

DSP Alfred Alabo, the Plateau State Police Command’s public relations officer, responded, “I’m not aware of the incident because we have our channel of communication, so honestly, I’m not aware yet,” when called.
