Four Kidnappers Neutralized as Police Recover 18 Rifles, 192 Rounds of Ammo

According to the Nigeria Police, four kidnappers were killed in a gunfight in a forest near the Asaba/Agbor motorway in the state by its agents affiliated with the Delta State Command.
The arrest of Abubakar Usman, also known as Shehu, the head of a well-known kidnapping ring, prompted this operation, according to a statement from ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja. being questioned.
Shehu admitted to a number of crimes, according to Adejobi, including the kidnapping and murder of Mr. Godwin Anuka’s wife and daughter in Ogwashi-Uku, as well as the kidnapping of a doctor in Issele-uku, Delta State.

According to the Force PRO, the suspect also guided officers to the gang’s hiding place in a woodland along the Asaba/Agbor freeway, where they ran into the other members of the gang and were heavily fired upon.
“The operatives successfully eliminated four gang members during the subsequent gunfight and retrieved three AK-47 rifles and ninety rounds of live ammunition,” he disclosed.
Adejobi added that on April 10, 2025, police officers from the Kano State Command, acting on reliable information, detained Abdul Sadiq, age 43, Ahmad Muazu, age 22, and Aliyu Sharif “m,” age 40, in Dorayi Babba, Kano State.
Following more inquiry, the suspects were found to have 15 locally made revolver guns, 102 live cartridges, and 6 used cartridges. Investigations are being strengthened to discover the plant where these illicit weaponry are being created and arrest other perpetrators, he added.
