Why Shout at Me, Do I Look Like Yahaya Bello? – Sowore Confronts Security Agents

Omoyele Sowore, a former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, has confronted members of the Nigeria Police Force and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for preventing him from entering the Federal High Court’s grounds.
In a video posted on X on Monday, Sowore charged that uniformed security personnel, including the police, civil defense, and Department of State Security (DSS) Services, had taken control of the Nigerian legal system.
Sowore resisted every officer’s attempt to stop him, stating that he is not Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, who is currently facing charges of financial embezzlement from the commission.

He said that because the security guards had brought a “thief,” Yahaya Bello, to the court, they had unlawfully taken over the grounds.
He further attacked the government for not apprehending Bello when he was wanted and only able to hold him when the former governor came to the Abuja office of the EFCC.
“Why are you yelling at me?” Sowore questioned in the video. Do I resemble Bello Yahaya? I’m in court for business. Since none of you are a court officer, I don’t require permission from the EFCC or the police.
I’ll speak with a court official if you bring one; this is a Federal High Court. I was taken to court by the EFCC, and they continue to harass us. Standing in front of the high court is not your place. You have no right to know my case because you are not my attorney.
