EFCC Storms Home of Ex-NHIS Boss Usman Yusuf, Takes Him to Undisclosed Location

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided the residence of Prof. Usman Yusuf, a former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and took him into custody.
The professor of haematology-oncology and bone marrow transplantation was arrested by the anti-graft agency at approximately 4:46 p.m. on Wednesday in his home, in front of his wife and kids, for an unidentified offense.
According to sources who verified the occurrence on Wednesday evening, Yusuf was taken by EFCC agents and then driven to an unidentified location.
Furthermore, according to a high-ranking EFCC source, Yusuf’s detention details are confidential but may be related to his actions while he was in charge of NHIS.
“As investigations are still ongoing, the reason for his arrest cannot be made public at this time,” the source stated. He is in custody and will assist the authorities in their investigations, as far as I know.
